This was based on the character I made using Picrew!

My first fish

It was a gift to me

But I forgot to feed it

So it died and I put it in a bag

And carried it with me

To the sea

And tied it on a string

That always connected to my heart.

My 10th fish

It was my favorite one

Although it wasn’t the first

It had the most beautiful colors

And it was so curious

So it swam around everywhere

But it tired itself out

And jumped out of its bowl.

My 20th fish

I fed it and fed it

I had to learn from my mistakes right

I didn't want it to starve

But then it choked on its food

My 30th fish

It was quite boring

I didn't really want this one

It never swam around for me

So I just let it be

And I didn’t care for it

But someone who did

Went and stole it

I took a break from fishes

Just for a while

Just so I can forget the pain

And maybe move on from them

But they were all out in sea

All in bags

Tied on a string

Connected to my heart

I dragged along the weight

Because I didn’t mind

My 143rd fish

No fish was as special as my first

But this one was quite strange

It felt like I was the one in the bowl

Doing tricks and getting fed

This fish lasted the longest

One day it stopped to look at me

And it asked,

“Why is it that you cannot swim like me, and all you can do is sink?”

And I replied,

“Do you know a way to lift this weight that drags me down?”

And it said,

“You’d feel better, if I was not one of those fishes

On a string

connected to your heart.”

So I took this fish

Before I could mess things up

In it’s bag

out to the sea again

But this time

I let her go.

And one by one,

As my fishes all left their bags

And off my heart

It finally felt like I was able to swim

To the surface

Too.
